Project Joy and Hope
proposes the following vision:

Community Awareness

  • To share the message that hospice is a hopeful lifestyle
  • To express the need for quality palliative care at end of life for children through a specific program designed to meet the special needs of young people

Education

  • To educate the classroom teacher about issues of life and loss transition, equipping the teacher to better assist students with these special needs
  • To improve parent understanding of childhood, adolescent, and adult grief and loss issues
  • To encourage the medical community to include palliative and supportive care when treating patients with life-limiting illness

Program Development

  • To assist the major Texas cities in developing quality pediatric end of life care and bereavement services

Resource Development

  • To provide financial assistance for special services for children's hospice programs

Volunteer Service

  • To enlist volunteers in each community to share the message, "In HOPE we are never disappointed", through the gift of time and talent.
