Project Joy and Hope proposes the following vision:
Community Awareness
- To share the message that hospice is a hopeful lifestyle
- To express the need for quality palliative care at end of life for children through a specific program designed to meet the special needs of young people
- To educate the classroom teacher about issues of life and loss transition, equipping the teacher to better assist students with these
special needs
- To improve parent understanding of childhood, adolescent, and adult
grief and loss issues
- To encourage the medical community to include palliative and supportive
care when treating patients with life-limiting illness
- To assist the major Texas cities in developing quality pediatric end of life care and bereavement services
- To provide financial assistance for special services for children's hospice programs
- To enlist volunteers in each community to share the message, "In HOPE we are never disappointed", through the gift of time and talent.
